Hello, and welcome to this, my personal running website.
I started running back in 2005 at the grand old age of 53, having hated all forms of running in the past. After some 9 months of gentle jogging in my lunchtime around the business park where I work, I was nagged by a colleague into joining Bushfield Joggers, a small but very friendly club based at the Bushfield Sports Centre, Peterborough. As a result, I now regularly compete in races from 5 kilometres to 15 miles in distance.
Now, as I am sure many will know, those who start a new interest in later life tend to throw themselves into it with total abandon - well, I am no exception! In addition to competing in over 20 races a year, I took on the role of race results secretary. Subsequently I also took over the Club's website and completely rebuilt it. And then, I somehow became Vice Chairman of the Club! For someone who hated running and vowed never to race, what went wrong?
If you live in or near to Peterborough and are keen to join a running club but are put off by some of the more "professional" clubs , why not give us a try. For more information, have a look on their website using the following link.
All the best.
Alan
